Mañana será otro día

Mañana será otro día brings together a series of videos documenting the restoration of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States, which began in December 2014 and continued through mid-2017. Announcements, official visits, cultural events, and images that circulated as signs of a possible transformation of the country appear one after another on an LED screen.

Seen from the present, these images preserve the expectations of that moment. The work returns them, again and again, to the instant before what they promised: change is still yet to come, openness still seems possible, tomorrow will still be another day. The video ends and begins again.
